Schakelaar is a Voltage Controlled 3 Position Switch, 7HP Eurorack module that switches between 3 inputs and/or voltage levels depending on the “Position” control voltage input.
When the voltage of this input (located at the top) is higher then +1.7 volts, position “+” is selected. When it is lower then -1.7 volts it switched to the “-” position and else it is set to the “o” position.
The input range is between -5 and +5 volt. When it is higher, it will be clipped.
The outputs are a buffered multiple. There is 1 position input and another is connected so you can send the same voltage to another module.
- power usage: +12v 8ma, -12v 8ma (does not use the 5v rail)
- polarity protected
- 3U 7HP
- 25mm depth
This voltage controlled switch is simple, but can be useful and versatile in your patches.
Besides it being just an analog switch.
You can use it as a logic AND gate by sending a gate in the position CV and another gate in the “+” input while turning its attenuator all the way up and turning the attenuator of “o” all the way down.
You can use it as a logic inverter by turning the pot of “+” down, the pot of “-” up and send your gate to the position CV input.
And you can also use it as OR gate by inserting one gate in the “-” input, setting “+” and “-” pot to max and insert the other gate in the “position” input.
You can shape a wave by sending 3 different shapes from the same source oscillator and its sawtooth or triangle to the position CV.
Or use it as a sequencer by sending a slow ramp to a Sample & Hold and then to the position CV input…
